Seeking the Kingdom of God
Seek the Kingdom of God:
Attitude: Living for God does not mean that we should neglect living our lives, but have a different attitude. We are to seek the things of God as a priority over the things of the world. Primarily, to seek the salvation (through Jesus Christ) that is inherent in the kingdom of God because it is of greater value than all the world’s riches. “Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. “ (1 John 4:4) It means before anything else, we must seek first to glorify God by knowing and loving Him; we give testimony of our love by serving Him, we serve Him by keeping his commandments and teachings. To love and serve God should be the desires of our heart and to live entirely for Him. When we acknowledge the lordship of Christ and gladly surrender to God’s rule in their hearts, we are part of God’s kingdom. In this sense, the kingdom of God is spiritual—Jesus said His kingdom was not of this world (John 18:36), and He preached that repentance is necessary to be a part of God’s kingdom (Matthew 4:17).
Prayer: It is God’s heart desire that His people focus on His kingdom and righteousness. In Matthew 6:33 seeking God’s kingdom, believers find God’s priority is also focused on prayers. Take time to put God first in prayer, as Martha and Mary were very much loved by Jesus, there is a lesson about Mary of being too busy for God. (Luke 10:38-42) Jesus says to be kingdom focused; abide in him and He in you. (John 15:4-5) Pray fervently with real purpose and to seek God’s interaction in your life. (James 5:16). The source of our prayer comes from the Holy Spirit, stirred in our hearts, transcend to the Father, in the mighty name of Jesus in the presence of the Holy Spirit. This also means to pray for anyone who ask; anyone who needs prayer and to seek God’s goodness for all that you pray for.
Action: If we are living for God’s plan and will as a priority—seeking His salvation, living in obedience to Him, and sharing the good news of the kingdom with others, as promised, He will take care of us. Do we worship and adore our Heavenly Father, provide our service, time and resources? In helping others; aid the sick, feed the poor, shelter, comfort through friendship, love and service?
1. The saying is trustworthy, for: If we have died with him, we will also live with him; if we endure, we will also reign with him; if we deny him, he also will deny us; if we are faithless, he remains faithful— for he cannot deny himself. (2 Timothy 2:11–13)
2. "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." (Matthew 3:2)

8. Listen, my beloved brethren: did not God choose the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him? (James 2:5)
